Microsoft vừa công bố danh sách CPU hỗ trợ chính thức cho Windows 11 phiên bản 24H2, mang đến nhiều bất ngờ cho người dùng. Bên cạnh việc bổ sung những “tân binh” như Intel Lunar Lake, Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200 và AMD Ryzen 8000, Microsoft cũng gây chú ý khi loại bỏ một số CPU Intel thế hệ 8, 9 và 10 khỏi danh sách hỗ trợ cho các hệ thống OEM mới.
Điều này đồng nghĩa với việc các máy tính mới sử dụng các CPU này sẽ không được Microsoft chứng nhận tương thích với Windows 11 24H2. Tuy nhiên, người dùng cá nhân đang sử dụng máy tính chạy các CPU này có thể thở phào nhẹ nhõm, bởi thay đổi này không ảnh hưởng đến khả năng cập nhật lên Windows 11 hay tiếp tục nhận bản vá.

Vậy đâu là lý do đằng sau quyết định này của Microsoft? Mặc dù chưa có lời giải thích chính thức, nhiều chuyên gia cho rằng động thái này có thể liên quan đến việc Intel ngừng hỗ trợ trình điều khiển iGPU cho các thế hệ CPU 7-10 từ tháng 12/2024. Bằng cách tập trung vào các CPU mới hơn, được Intel hỗ trợ đầy đủ, Microsoft muốn đảm bảo trải nghiệm tối ưu và ổn định cho người dùng Windows 11.
Tuy nhiên, cách Microsoft chọn lọc CPU trong danh sách mới cũng đặt ra nhiều câu hỏi. Ví dụ, Core i9-10900K với 10 nhân 20 luồng và xung nhịp boost 5.3 GHz lại bị loại bỏ, trong khi Celeron 6305 chỉ có 2 nhân 2 luồng vẫn được giữ lại. Điều này cho thấy hiệu năng không phải là yếu tố duy nhất được Microsoft cân nhắc, mà khả năng hỗ trợ phần mềm của Intel cũng đóng vai trò quan trọng.
Mặc dù thay đổi này chủ yếu tác động đến các nhà sản xuất OEM, nhưng nó cũng là một tín hiệu cho thấy Microsoft đang dần chuyển hướng sang các thế hệ CPU mới hơn. Trong tương lai, việc siết chặt tiêu chí hỗ trợ phần cứng có thể tiếp tục diễn ra. Người dùng cá nhân hiện tại vẫn có thể yên tâm sử dụng Windows 11 trên các hệ thống cũ, nhưng về lâu dài, việc nâng cấp phần cứng có thể trở thành điều cần thiết để tận hưởng trọn vẹn những tính năng và cải tiến mới nhất của hệ điều hành.
